The Opportunity

A leading national mechanical contractor is seeking a Safety Director to oversee safety strategy and execution across major mission critical/data centre construction projects in the Austin market.

This is a high-impact leadership role focused on driving a best-in-class safety culture across complex, fast-paced mechanical builds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead safety programs across large-scale mechanical construction projects (HVAC, piping, plumbing)
  • Oversee safety delivery on mission critical / data centre projects
  • Manage and mentor a team of Safety Managers and field safety professionals
  • Partner closely with project and operations leadership
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations while promoting proactive safety initiatives
  • Lead incident investigations, audits, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Embed safety into preconstruction planning and project execution
  • Champion a zero-incident, high-accountability culture

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of construction safety experience
  • Strong background within:
    • Mechanical / MEP contractors
    • Large-scale commercial or industrial projects
  • Experience on mission critical / data centre projects (highly preferred)
  • Proven ability to lead safety on large, complex job sites
  • Experience managing teams of safety professionals
  • Comfortable working in fast-track, high-performance environments

Certifications

  • OSHA 500 or 510 (required)
  • CHST or CSP (strongly preferred)
