Mechanical/Plumbing Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical/Plumbing Engineer to join our dynamic consulting team in Charlotte. The ideal candidate will design and oversee mechanical and plumbing systems largely for commercial, residential projects, and mixed use projects ensuring compliance with applicable codes and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for commercial projects.
- Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and energy efficiency analysis.
- Prepare detailed construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals for compliance with design intent.
- Conduct site visits for inspections, troubleshooting, and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with local, state, and national codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, IMC).
- Stay current with industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Coordinate with contractors and clients throughout project lifecycle.
- Provide technical support during construction and resolve field issues promptly.
Key Requirements
- 5+ years of industry experience, preferably in an engineering consulting role
- PE license preferred, not required
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
- Excellent communication and project management skills
