Offshore Substation Package Manager
We are seeking an experienced and driven Offshore Substation (OSS) Package Manager to lead the delivery of the OSS scope within a large-scale offshore wind project. You will be responsible for managing the design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of the offshore substation, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the OSS package from concept through to commissioning, including FEED, detailed design, procurement, fabrication, transport & installation (T&I), and commissioning.
- Manage interfaces with internal teams (e.g., electrical, foundation, cables, HSE, consenting) and external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, certification bodies, grid operators).
- Develop and manage the OSS package budget, schedule, and risk register.
- Oversee the preparation of technical specifications, tender documents, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory frameworks.
- Coordinate with fabrication yards, marine contractors, and OEMs to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Monitor contractor performance and manage change orders, claims, and variations.
- Support permitting and certification processes, including liaison with classification societies and authorities.
- Ensure robust HSE practices are embedded throughout the OSS lifecycle.
- Report progress to senior management and contribute to project governance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Offshore Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in offshore wind or oil & gas, with at least 3 years in OSS or HV electrical infrastructure.
- Proven track record in managing complex EPC or EPCI packages.
- Strong understanding of offshore substation systems, including topside, jacket/foundation, HV/MV equipment, and auxiliary systems.
- Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., IEC, DNV, ISO) and grid code requirements.
- Excellent project management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience working in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel and work offshore as required.
