A nationally recognized engineering and planning firm is hiring a senior land development engineer to build and lead a development services practice within an established office. This role is designed for someone who already operates as a market-facing leader and wants meaningful ownership over growth, clients, and team direction.
You will step into a firm with strong brand credibility, deep technical resources, and a proven delivery platform. The expectation is not just project execution, but long-term market development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a land development practice focused on private-sector clients, including developers, owners, and investors
- Develop and manage client relationships across residential, mixed-use, industrial, and commercial projects
- Drive new work through repeat clients, referrals, and strategic business development
- Oversee project delivery from entitlement through construction support
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing technical team
- Collaborate with planners, surveyors, and other internal disciplines
- Take full accountability for financial performance, staff utilization, and quality control
Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- 10 plus years of experience in land development or development services
- Proven track record of client-facing leadership and business development
- Experience leading projects and teams within a consulting environment
- Strong understanding of entitlements, site design, and development execution
- Comfortable operating with autonomy and accountability
