Professional Land Surveyor
Role Overview
This position is responsible for conducting surveys that support a wide range of civil engineering and land development projects, processing survey data using industry‑standard software, and preparing survey maps, reports, and related documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct boundary, cadastral, hydraulic, topographic, ALTA, and construction surveys for both public and private sector projects.
- Perform fieldwork using GPS, robotic total stations, and other surveying equipment to accurately collect and analyze data.
- Prepare and review survey maps, legal descriptions, plats, and technical reports while ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Process survey data using software such as Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, developers, and government agencies to support land development, infrastructure, and construction initiatives.
- Interpret and apply zoning laws, subdivision regulations, and property records to establish and verify land boundaries.
- Review survey calculations, mapping accuracy, and data analysis for quality and consistency.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Desired Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the relevant state.
- 3+ years of experience as a licensed PLS preferred.
- Associate's degree in surveying or a related field from an accredited institution preferred.
- Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with experience using technical software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and Carlson Survey.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to multitask and manage workloads, deadlines, and client needs in a fast‑paced environment.
