Project Engineer - Water Wastewater
My client is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Project Engineer with experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for an early-career professional looking to grow their expertise in both treatment facility (inside the fence) or collection/distribution system (outside the fence) design and implementation.
Role Overview:
As a Project Engineer, you will support the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater projects. You'll work closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, cost-effective solutions for municipal and utility clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, and related infrastructure.
- Support preparation of engineering reports, construction documents, and technical specifications.
- Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction observations as needed.
- Perform hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
- Coordinate with permitting agencies and assist in the preparation of permit applications.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
- Contribute to project planning, cost estimating, and scheduling efforts.
Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in water and/or wastewater engineering.
- Familiarity with both inside-the-fence (treatment plants, pump stations) and outside-the-fence (pipelines, sewers, water mains) projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with modeling tools such as WaterCAD, SewerCAD, or similar is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Education and Licensure:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; working toward PE licensure is preferred.
