Salary: Up to $160,000 (depending on experience)
Summary:
An established utility construction contractor is seeking a Project Manager to support major infrastructure projects based out of the Sacramento area. This role offers the opportunity to lead impactful work across large-scale substation and underground transmission projects with a strong, stable backlog.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on substation experience (not just general T&D) along with expertise in underground (UG) systems and 115kV+ projects. You'll play a key role in driving project success from planning through execution while collaborating closely with field teams and clients.
The Project Manager will be responsible for:
* Overseeing safety, quality, and project performance
* Planning, budgeting, and executing substation projects
* Managing EPC substation scopes (including UG components)
* Coordinating subcontractors, procurement, and materials
* Handling documentation, submittals, and client communication
* Monitoring schedules, costs, risks, and profitability
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* 5+ years of substation project management experience
* Strong experience with UG systems and 115kV+ substations
* Experience managing utility or EPC substation projects
* Proficiency in MS Office; scheduling tools a plus
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Willingness to travel as needed
