Roadway Engineer
A multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking a mid-to-senior level Roadway Engineer to support transportation infrastructure projects.
Location Options:
King of Prussia, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh
Key Responsibilities:
-Support project management activities across all phases of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards and mentoring junior staff on technical matters.
-Contribute to the development and oversight of scopes, budgets, and schedules for project tasks; supervise assigned staff and coordinate resource needs with leadership.
-Lead design efforts including highway geometry (horizontal and vertical), hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and stormwater management using CAD tools such as MicroStation and OpenRoads.
-Prepare construction documents including plans, specifications, right-of-way plans, and cost estimates in accordance with applicable guidelines (e.g., AASHTO Green Book, Roadside Design Guide).
-May serve as a Task Manager on smaller-scale projects.
General Qualifications:
-Demonstrates broad knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
-Capable of independently applying standard techniques and adapting procedures to project needs.
-Experienced in leading moderately complex tasks and projects.
-Proficient in developing technical documentation and analyzing engineering risks using economic and statistical principles.
Experience:
-Minimum of 8 years in civil engineering post-degree.
-Education: B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering.
-Licensure: PE license in Pennsylvania or eligibility for reciprocity in multiple states.
Technical Leadership:
-Assigns and coordinates tasks among technical and non-technical staff.
-Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for engineering assignments.
-Assists in proposal development for professional services and project funding.
