Overview:
A leading renewable energy developer is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and engineering of electrical systems for onshore wind, solar, and energy storage projects. This role is ideal for a technically skilled and motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about clean energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of balance of plant (BoP) electrical systems during project development.
- Provide engineering support through pre-construction, construction, and operational turnover phases.
- Ensure compliance with grid codes and interconnection requirements.
- Specify and evaluate major BoP electrical equipment.
- Conduct power system modeling and studies.
- Coordinate engineering topics during construction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage third-party engineering consultants.
- Collaborate with internal subject matter experts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Promote health, safety, and environmental best practices in all engineering designs.
- Contribute to the development of engineering standards, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (advanced degrees a plus).
- Minimum of 6 years of post-graduate experience in electrical engineering.
- Expertise in transmission, substation, collection/distribution design, equipment specification, power system studies, and protection/control systems.
- Experience in renewable energy project design (wind, solar PV, BESS) is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and collaboratively.
- A proactive, coachable, and detail-oriented mindset with strong business acumen.
Work Environment:
This is a primarily office-based role with occasional travel to project sites and other office locations. The role may require extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking.
