Position Overview

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will lead complex geotechnical investigations, design foundations and earth retention systems, and provide technical oversight for major infrastructure and commercial projects. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and engage directly with clients to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead geotechnical investigations, including subsurface exploration and laboratory testing
  • Develop foundation, slope stability, and earth retention designs
  • Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and design documents
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support business development through client engagement and proposal contributions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's in Geotechnical Engineering preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
  • Expertise in soil mechanics, foundation design, and geotechnical software (e.g., GeoStudio, gINT)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Experience with INDOT or regional DOT projects is a plus
