Senior Project Manager - Building Enclosure & Commissioning

A nationally recognized firm specializing in quality assurance, safety, and performance solutions is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its Building Science team in Lake Forest, California. The company's Building and Construction division supports a wide range of clients across the architecture, engineering, and construction sectors. Their Building Science group focuses on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and performance testing for both new construction and renovation projects.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in building enclosure commissioning (BECx) and a strong technical background in building envelope systems. This role includes leading project teams, mentoring staff, managing client relationships, and contributing to business development. Travel up to 25% may be required based on project locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead building enclosure commissioning projects and train staff in BECx processes
  • Provide consulting and construction-phase services for new and existing buildings
  • Conduct assessments and develop repair designs for existing structures
  • Prepare proposals and technical reports
  • Mentor junior team members and support hiring efforts
  • Assist in local business development and client engagement
  • Participate in industry organizations and technical committees

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience
    OR
    7+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Professional registration or ability to obtain within one year
  • Strong knowledge of building enclosure systems and commissioning
  • Proven project management experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel and work at heights
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a variety of building types and enclosure testing
  • Familiarity with energy modeling and condition assessments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, or SketchUp
