Position Summary
The Structural Project Engineer will contribute to the design and documentation of complex medium- to large-scale Mission Critical building structures. This role includes technical leadership, coordination with project managers and senior leadership, design oversight, and opportunities for client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Technical
- Perform work under the direction of the licensed professional engineer of record
- Manage other design professionals as assigned
- Conduct structural analysis and design
- Develop structural detailing with guidance from senior engineers
- Oversee technical quality for assigned tasks and projects
- Assist in selecting materials and structural systems
- Coordinate structural design with other disciplines
- Produce documentation and calculations on schedule and within budget
- Support construction administration (RFIs, submittals, site visits, reports)
- Conduct peer reviews and contribute to internal process improvements
- Manage multiple Mission Critical projects simultaneously
Supervisory
- Assist in developing work plans and budgets
- Help manage team workloads
- Support and lead design working sessions
- Provide direction to junior team members
- Contribute to performance feedback and staff development
Client Liaison
- Attend client and consultant meetings
- Document meeting outcomes and action items
Business Development
- Build relationships with external partners
- Attend relevant industry and networking events
- Support proposal and interview efforts for Mission Critical pursuits
Qualifications
Education
- BS in Civil or Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis required)
- MS in Structural Engineering preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of structural engineering experience
- EIT Required/ PE Preferred
- SE license preferred
Skills
- Strong knowledge of building codes
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Collaborative mindset with strong problem‑solving ability
