Senior Transportation Program Manager| Austin

We are looking for a Senior Transportation Project Manager to lead complex planning and design initiatives across multiple regions. This role combines technical leadership with client engagement and business development responsibilities. You will oversee major transportation projects, mentor engineering teams, and help expand client relationships and secure new opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage transportation planning and design projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff on project tasks.
  • Apply highway design standards and manuals to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Oversee preparation of construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Serve as Project/Program Manager and Contract Manager for transportation projects.
  • Facilitate client meetings, presentations, and approvals.
  • Direct project staff and sub-consultants, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Act as primary liaison between clients and the firm.
  • Support business development and marketing efforts to secure future projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 15+ years of experience in civil engineering design with a focus on transportation/highway projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Expertise in MicroStation, GEOPAK, InRoads/OpenRoads, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience managing federal, state, and local government projects.

  • Experience with alternative project delivery methods.
  • Ability to work across multiple states and jurisdictions.
