Position Overview
They are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the Dallas office and play a pivotal role in driving business development, leading technical teams, and expanding their client base. This is a high-impact, client-facing role ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about growing a business.
This position is designed with long-term leadership growth in mind. The successful candidate will be on a clear path toward executive leadership, with the potential to grow into roles such as Vice President, President, or other senior executive positions as the company continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead geotechnical investigations and engineering analyses for a variety of project types including commercial, residential, industrial, and transportation.
- Serve as a primary client contact, fostering relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
- Manage and mentor junior engineers and field staff, promoting technical excellence and professional development.
- Oversee and contribute to Construction Materials Testing (CMT) services, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Prepare and review proposals, reports, and project deliverables.
- Collaborate with leadership to shape strategic growth initiatives and explore new service lines (e.g., structural engineering, building envelope).
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Contribute to the firm's long-term vision and strategic planning, with a focus on leadership development and succession.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
- 10-20 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Proven track record of client engagement and business development.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience with geotechnical software (e.g., gINT, GeoStudio, LPILE, etc.) and field testing protocols.
- Ambition and capability to grow into an executive leadership role.
