Site Manager (Construction Manager)
Site Manager - Mission‑Critical Infrastructure (Global Engineering Client)
We are working with a leading global engineering organisation specialising in mission‑critical digital infrastructure to recruit an experienced Site Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, organised professional who enjoys taking ownership of on‑site delivery and driving progress across complex, high‑profile construction projects.
The Opportunity
Our client is looking for a hands‑on site lead who can manage day‑to‑day operations, coordinate multiple contractors and stakeholders, and ensure all project activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You'll act as the primary on‑site representative, supporting project leadership through clear communication, detailed reporting, and effective coordination across all phases of construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all on‑site activities, ensuring safety protocols, documentation standards, and compliance requirements are upheld.
- Facilitate and contribute to project meetings, monitor progress against milestones, and support reporting processes.
- Coordinate with general contractors, trades, technicians, suppliers, and consultants throughout all build stages.
- Oversee installation inspections, logistics, punch‑list management, and the completion of all handover documentation.
- Support commissioning and testing activities alongside technical specialists.
- Build positive working relationships while maintaining a customer‑focused approach.
Ideal Background
- Experience in construction or project management, ideally including work on commercial or mission‑critical builds.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, MEP systems, and industry‑standard project software.
- Confident decision‑maker able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent the client effectively on site.
- Degree in construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience is also valued.
Location & Travel
The role is site‑based and will require frequent travel to live project locations across the region. Candidates should be comfortable with travel demands (up to approximately 80%), often involving extended stays on site to oversee key phases of construction and commissioning. Flexibility is essential, as project locations can vary and schedules may shift based on operational needs.
Who You Are
You're a proactive, self‑driven leader who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and thrives in environments where coordination, technical understanding, and stakeholder management are essential. You value safety, quality, and professionalism, and you enjoy delivering work that supports critical infrastructure relied upon by millions.
