Structual Project Manager

We are partnering with an established infrastructure engineering organization seeking a Senior Structural/Bridge Engineering Lead to support and expand their transportation structures practice. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who excels in structural analysis and design, enjoys mentoring developing engineers, and thrives in leading complex structural projects from concept through delivery.

This position will provide technical leadership across structural design, project management, quality oversight, business development support, and mentorship. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in bridge design, structural operations, and project leadership within public-sector transportation environments.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the delivery of structural engineering assignments across the region.
  • Serve as a technical expert for conceptual and detailed engineering design, preparation of structural contract documents, and construction‑phase structural support.
  • Manage structure‑related projects as Project or Program Manager, ensuring technical quality, schedule alignment, and effective communication.
  • Assist with business development, including contributing to proposals, participating in client meetings, and supporting pursuit strategies.
  • Facilitate internal and external meetings, presentations, and plan approvals.
  • Provide QA/QC oversight of structural design work for completeness and accuracy.
  • Conduct bridge inspections as needed.
  • Hire, train, and mentor junior and entry‑level engineers, supporting their technical and professional development.
  • Apply engineering judgment to develop innovative, constructible structural solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in bridge design, structural engineering, or bridge inspection.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Strong communication skills, including experience contributing to proposal development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with state transportation agencies and municipal clients (e.g., DOT‑level structures programs).
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Completion of an 80‑hour bridge inspection training course or equivalent.
