Structural Engineer
Position Overview
My client is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and 5-10 years of experience in multi-family projects. This is a remote position, but candidates must reside in or near Las Vegas, Nevada or Portland, Oregon to collaborate effectively with regional teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze structural systems for multi-family residential projects.
- Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, and specifications in compliance with building codes and standards.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project success.
- Review and approve shop drawings and construction submittals.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Conduct site visits as needed for inspections and project meetings.
Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the United States (preferably in NV or OR).
- 5-10 years of structural engineering experience, with a strong focus on multi-family residential projects.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, RISA, SAP2000) and AutoCAD/Revit.
- Strong understanding of building codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple projects.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with wood, concrete, and steel framing systems.
- Familiarity with seismic design requirements in the Western U.S.
- Project management experience is a plus.
