Superintendent - New England (Full-Time)

A privately operated, fast-growing contractor specializing in earthwork, environmental, and civil site projects across the New England region is seeking an experienced Superintendent. This role involves coordinating field operations across multiple project locations, so applicants should be adaptable, highly motivated, and comfortable traveling as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily field activities, including planning work sequences, overseeing construction methods, and ensuring smooth coordination among crews.
  • Interpret project plans, specifications, and scope documents to guide field decisions and maintain project accuracy.
  • Document work progress each day and manage field operations to keep the project on schedule.
  • Provide project managers with cost details such as coded invoices, monthly reporting quantities, and pay requisition information.
  • Oversee subcontractor and trade compliance with safety expectations, conduct weekly inspections and toolbox talks, and ensure corrective actions are followed.
  • Assist safety personnel with incident reviews and help implement follow‑up measures.
  • Participate in progress meetings and support clear communication across project teams.
  • Train field staff and support workforce development.
  • Work with project leadership to complete closeout tasks and address punch‑list items efficiently.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of experience serving as a Superintendent or in a comparable field‑leadership role.
  • Degree in construction management, engineering, or construction technology preferred but not required.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to oversee multiple crews and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of scheduling, cost control, and general construction processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency with Windows‑based software; basic survey experience is a plus.
