About the Role
As Survey Department Manager, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing survey operations, managing client relationships, and driving business development. You'll be responsible for project execution, team scheduling, quality assurance, and strategic planning-all while working on a variety of impactful projects across public and private sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and schedule survey crews and manage overall survey operations
- Pursue new clients and survey assignments to grow department revenue
- Prepare survey documents, including plats and legal descriptions
- Collaborate with design teams and manage project budgets, contracts, and invoicing
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience in land surveying
- Illinois Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required
- Experience with MicroStation and/or Civil 3D preferred
- Proven business development and client engagement skills
