About the opportunity

A globally recognised engineering and advisory firm is expanding its Maritime business in the Philippines and is seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead technical excellence, develop local capability, and drive strategic growth.

This is a pivotal role for a senior maritime engineering leader who excels across technical leadership, project delivery, team development, and client engagement-with a mandate to elevate the firm's presence across the Philippines and the wider APAC region.


Key Responsibilities

As Technical Director, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight across complex maritime engineering projects including:
    • Ports & terminals
    • Harbour and marine structures (wharves, jetties, piers, quay walls)
    • Navigation channels & dredging interfaces
    • Port planning & marine infrastructure development
  • Lead technical governance, peer reviews, and independent verification to ensure best‑practice delivery
  • Act as a key client-facing technical authority-leading design reviews, workshops, and solution development
  • Mentor and grow a local technical team, supporting capability development and recruitment
  • Drive business development and market positioning, supporting proposals, bids, and strategic pursuits
  • Collaborate with APAC maritime leaders to align technical standards and growth strategy across the region

What We're Looking For

You will likely bring:

  • Senior-level experience (TD / AD / Director) within maritime engineering
  • Strong track record delivering multidisciplinary port, terminal, and marine infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated client leadership and experience contributing to winning work (bids, proposals, frameworks)
  • Experience leading teams-mentoring, resource planning, and capability building
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Degree in Civil/Structural/Maritime Engineering; professional chartership (PE/CEng/RPEQ/ASEP) advantageous
