Transportation Engineer

We are working with a client who is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Transportation Engineer to lead and manage complex transportation projects across Colorado. This role involves overseeing the planning, design, and implementation of roadway, transit, and multimodal infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of transportation systems to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of transportation infrastructure projects including highways, arterial roads, intersections, and transit facilities.
  • Manage project teams, budgets, schedules, and client communications.
  • Conduct and oversee traffic studies, safety analyses, and transportation impact assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with CDOT, FHWA, AASHTO, and local agency standards.
  • Prepare and review engineering reports, construction documents, and cost estimates.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support professional development within the team.
  • Collaborate with planners, environmental specialists, and public agencies.
  • Present technical findings to stakeholders, clients, and the public.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado or ability to obtain promptly.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in transportation engineering.
  • Proven experience managing transportation projects from concept to completion.
  • Proficiency in design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Synchro, HCS).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) projects.
  • Familiarity with multimodal and sustainable transportation design.
  • Knowledge of GIS and data visualization tools.
  • Ability to lead public engagement and stakeholder coordination efforts.
