Transportation Project Manager
Our client, a well-established civil engineering firm, is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to lead roadway design projects and manage client relationships in Charlotte, NC. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with 10+ years of transportation engineering experience and a strong background working with public agencies and state DOTs across the Southeast.
The Transportation Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Managing roadway design projects from concept through final plans
- Preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with DOT and AASHTO standards
- Overseeing geometric design, corridor modeling, and traffic control plans
- Leading project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Coordinating with internal teams, subconsultants, and clients
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting staff development
- Assisting with proposals, scope development, and client presentations
- Driving quality control and ensuring compliance with applicable standards
The ideal candidate will have:
- 10+ years of experience in transportation engineering with a roadway focus
- Strong knowledge of DOT standards and procedures
- Proven experience managing projects and leading teams
- Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, or similar
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
