Traveling Healthcare Construction Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations for complex healthcare and senior living construction projects. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day jobsite activities, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong experience with healthcare construction environments, including specialized systems such as elevators and low-voltage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site construction activities for healthcare and senior living projects from start through completion.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule subcontractors and trade partners to maintain project timelines and efficiency.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Oversee installation and coordination of complex building systems, including internal elevators and low-voltage systems (e.g., nurse call, access control, fire alarm, communications).
  • Maintain a strong focus on jobsite safety by enforcing policies, conducting regular safety meetings, and promoting a safety-first culture.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and owners to ensure seamless communication and execution.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or conflicts, and proactively implement solutions.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and ensure work meets healthcare facility standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage daily reports, site documentation, and progress updates.
  • Coordinate inspections, commissioning, and project close-out activities.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction, with a strong focus on healthcare and/or senior living facilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and complex project schedules.
  • Demonstrated experience with healthcare construction systems, including elevators and low-voltage systems.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and healthcare compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Proficiency with construction management tools and reporting systems.
  • Must be open to travel on a per diem basis

  • Willingness and ability to travel as required for project assignments.
  • OSHA certification and a strong commitment to jobsite safety.
