Water/Wastewater Electrical Engineer
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced professional to join our Water Solutions team, where you will play a key role in delivering complex projects and driving technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project execution, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Provide technical leadership and ensure compliance with client standards for engineering and design teams across regional offices.
- Act as a subject matter expert in electrical power distribution and plant electrical systems, offering guidance during client engagements.
- Support business development initiatives focused on advanced electrical services.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to understand operational needs and strategic objectives.
- Perform construction oversight and resolve electrical-related issues during implementation.
- Coordinate with local utility providers to address project-specific technical requirements.
- Review and approve vendor documentation and equipment submittals.
- Serve as a liaison between local and remote design teams for Instrumentation and Control systems.
- Lead commissioning and testing activities for major electrical equipment.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and technical specialization.
Location & Work Model
This role primarily supports projects in the Phoenix metropolitan area and across the U.S. West Coast. Candidates based in Phoenix, AZ are preferred. Flexible or hybrid work arrangements may be considered after the initial 90-day period, subject to performance and managerial approval.
About the Team
You will be part of an operations group focused on projects within the Governments & Environment sector. The team delivers innovative solutions for mission-critical facilities, environmental services, and infrastructure modernization. We partner with clients to integrate technology, processes, and analytics to optimize water systems, reduce costs, and mitigate risks. The team is recognized among the top firms in water supply and wastewater projects.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) license in Arizona or another U.S. jurisdiction.
- 5-8 years of experience in electrical design and construction services.
- Background in consulting for water/wastewater projects.
- Expertise in medium and low-voltage systems, including VFDs and standby generators.
- Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and fiber optic cabling.
- Client-facing experience and business development skills.
- Knowledge of power system analysis tools (e.g., SKM, ETAP) is a plus.
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to meet pre-employment requirements, including background checks and drug screening, in compliance with applicable regulations.
