An established, employee-focused engineering consulting firm is seeking a Bridge Group Leader to oversee the growth, technical excellence, and delivery of bridge and transportation infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to lead a talented team, shape the strategic direction of a bridge practice, and manage high-profile transportation projects that improve communities and critical infrastructure throughout the region.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bridge engineer or project manager looking to step into a leadership role with significant influence over project delivery, client relationships, business development, and team growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage bridge engineering staff, project managers, and technical teams.
- Oversee the planning, design, rehabilitation, and replacement of bridge structures.
- Serve as project manager and technical lead on complex transportation projects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with public and private sector clients.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and project managers.
- Maintain project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with transportation, roadway, structural, geotechnical, and construction teams.
- Ensure compliance with state DOT, AASHTO, and industry design standards.
- Identify opportunities to expand services, pursue new clients, and grow market presence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10+ years of bridge engineering experience.
- Proven experience managing bridge design, rehabilitation, and transportation infrastructure projects.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong understanding of bridge design codes, structural analysis, and transportation project delivery.
- Demonstrated success in client management and business development.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ohio DOT project experience preferred.
- Structural Engineering (SE) licensure is a plus.
