The client specializes in innovative seismic design, sustainable building solutions, and performance-based engineering for a wide range of projects including commercial developments, institutional facilities, and historic retrofits. With a team of over 30 engineers, the firm is committed to technical excellence, collaborative project delivery, and pushing the boundaries of structural design.
We are seeking a CAD/BIM Specialist to join this dynamic team and play a key role in expanding their building modeling capabilities. This position is ideal for a technically skilled individual who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and is passionate about improving workflows through digital tools.
Key Responsibilities
Model Setup & Detailing:
Independently or in collaboration with engineers, set up new structural BIM models and draft detailed CAD drawings based on markups and design intent.Client Coordination:
Act as a liaison with clients' BIM managers to ensure alignment on project standards, deliverables, and timelines.Customization & Optimization:
Tailor AutoCAD and Revit environments to enhance productivity, including the creation of custom scripts, shortcuts, and interface improvements.Template & Content Development:
Build and maintain dynamic blocks in AutoCAD and parametric families in Revit. Develop standardized project templates to ensure consistency across projects.Training & Documentation:
Onboard new staff with AutoCAD/Revit training and produce clear, accessible documentation for internal workflows and best practices.Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
Provide first-line support for CAD/BIM-related issues, resolving software conflicts and ensuring smooth operation across platforms.Software Deployment:
Collaborate with IT to install, configure, and update AutoCAD and Revit software across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience using AutoCAD and Revit in the architecture, engineering, or construction (A/E/C) industry.
- Strong understanding of structural modeling workflows and documentation standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to custom tools and evolving project needs.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AutoLISP, .NET programming, or Dynamo for automation and customization.
- Familiarity with other 3D modeling and visualization tools such as Rhino, SketchUp, or 3DS Max.
- Prior experience in a consulting or engineering firm environment is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $40-$48, based on experience, education, and skillset.
- Bonuses: Eligible for performance-based bonuses.
