Civil Engineering Business Development Manager
My client, a leading civil engineering firm in Florida, is seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager to expand their transportation and infrastructure portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in securing work with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license, and demonstrate the ability to bring in and manage projects successfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business development strategies to grow my client's presence in the Florida transportation market.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with FDOT, local municipalities, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead the identification and pursuit of new project opportunities, including proposal development and client presentations.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure alignment between business development efforts and project delivery.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and client needs to guide strategic planning.
- Represent my client at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida is required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on transportation.
- Proven success in winning work with FDOT and other public agencies.
- Strong network of industry contacts in Florida.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple pursuits and projects simultaneously.

- Experience with design-build and alternative delivery methods.
