About the Opportunity
A leading, multi‑state engineering and construction services firm is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Project Manager to oversee and deliver high‑quality CMT and Special Inspection projects throughout the Tampa. This role combines client management, technical leadership, and hands‑on field engagement to ensure that major commercial projects are delivered safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage CMT and Special Inspection projects from kickoff to closeout.
- Oversee field operations, ensuring timely, accurate reporting and documentation.
- Ensure strict compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
- Prepare project proposals and support business development initiatives.
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships through ongoing communication and responsiveness.
- Manage budgets, invoicing, scheduling, and project profitability.
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical details to guide field teams.
- Perform and supervise field inspections, including:
- Soils / Foundations: proofrolling, subgrade evaluation, foundation observations
- Reinforced Concrete
- Structural Masonry
- Structural Steel & Bolting
- Welding Inspections
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 5+ years in construction materials testing.
- At least 1 year of project management or project lead experience.
- Strong knowledge of ASTM, ACI, AWS, and relevant construction standards.
- Strong communication, organization, and multi‑project management skills.
Preferred
- Certifications such as ACI, ICC, NICET, AWS, EIT/PE, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (ABET‑accredited or NCEES‑evaluated international equivalent).
- Experience with Metafield or similar CMT management platforms.
