About the Opportunity
A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking a Director of Operations to lead and strengthen business operations across estimating, project management, field operations, and organisational growth.
The company has built a strong reputation delivering complex plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical construction projects throughout Massachusetts and is looking for a proven leader who can drive performance, develop teams, and support continued growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership across operations, project management, estimating, and field teams.
- Drive project profitability, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction.
- Oversee multiple concurrent construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
- Develop and improve operational processes, systems, and reporting.
- Mentor and develop project managers, estimators, and operational staff.
- Work closely with executive leadership on strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry partners.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of leadership experience within a mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, or MEP contracting environment.
- Demonstrated success managing operations and project teams.
- Strong financial and commercial understanding of construction projects.
- Experience overseeing large-scale commercial, institutional, healthcare, life sciences, or public-sector projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to drive accountability while fostering a positive team culture.
