Our client is seeking experienced Project Managers to support a growing portfolio of municipal infrastructure projects. The highest-priority need is within the Stormwater group, though transportation-related project experience is also highly valued. This is a hands-on project management role focused on delivering projects from concept through construction and closeout.

The ideal candidate will be a licensed PE with approximately 5-10 years of experience who can independently manage projects, coordinate stakeholders, and oversee all phases of delivery. This is not a director-level or executive oversight position.

  • Prepare and review contracts, scopes, and level-of-effort estimates
  • Coordinate procurement and project advertisement activities
  • Oversee design reviews, consultant teams, and utility coordination
  • Manage property, easement, and utility relocation requirements
  • Coordinate with city staff, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Prepare council agenda items, presentations, and supporting documentation
  • Lead public meetings and stakeholder engagement efforts
  • Attend preconstruction meetings and site visits as needed
  • Review invoices, manage budgets, and monitor project schedules
  • Develop recovery plans and risk mitigation strategies for delayed projects
  • Maintain project documentation and reporting within project management systems

Project Types

Stormwater (Priority Need)

  • Pipe rehabilitation projects
  • Channel restoration projects
  • Drainage and flood mitigation improvements
  • Emergency response and pipe collapse repairs
  • Large-scale stormwater relief and mitigation programs

Transportation

  • Roadway and transportation infrastructure projects
  • Intersection improvements
  • Traffic signal projects
  • Municipal capital improvement programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 5-10 years of civil engineering or project management experience
  • Experience managing municipal infrastructure projects
  • Background in stormwater, drainage, transportation, or public works projects
  • Construction management experience preferred
  • Ability to manage projects through the full project lifecycle
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Location Requirements

  • Preference for candidates located in the DFW area
  • Remote candidates may be considered if able to attend the office, project meetings, public meetings, and key project milestones as required
  • Ability to travel locally throughout the DFW market when needed

Project Load

  • Typical workload of approximately 6-7 active projects
  • Potential responsibility for up to 10 projects based on complexity and project phase

This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on PE who enjoys owning projects from cradle to grave and working directly with municipal clients on impactful transportation and stormwater infrastructure improvements.
