About the Company

A digital infrastructure company operating across the Asia-Pacific region is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join its growing IT Systems team.

Role Summary

This position is ideal for a proactive and skilled cybersecurity professional who can balance hands-on technical work with analytical and compliance responsibilities. The role supports infrastructure growth, ISO 27001 certification, and cybersecurity operations across multiple regions. It involves implementing and maintaining security controls, monitoring systems, and supporting governance and compliance efforts.

The successful candidate will work in a hybrid capacity-dividing time between technical implementation and security operations-and will participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Implementation (50%)

  • Configure, harden, and maintain network devices, firewalls, and servers.
  • Deploy and manage cybersecurity tools (e.g., endpoint protection, SIEM, vulnerability scanners).
  • Apply patches and updates to minimize vulnerabilities.
  • Support secure infrastructure deployment at new and existing sites.
  • Assist project teams with security requirements and risk assessments.

Monitoring, Analysis & Governance (50%)

  • Monitor security logs and respond to anomalies or incidents.
  • Investigate alerts and potential security breaches.
  • Support internal and external penetration testing.
  • Collaborate on ISO 27001 control implementation.
  • Use GRC platforms to track and report compliance.
  • Prepare documentation for audits and certifications.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 3-5 years in a cybersecurity or security-focused infrastructure role.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, system hardening, and threat vectors.
  • Experience with enterprise security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, and secure environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in regulated or certified environments (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
  • Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
  • Background in multi-site or global organizations.
  • Exposure to GRC platforms and governance tools.
