Role Overview
A well-established and highly respected site construction contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support an immediate need within its operations team. The company performs complex excavation, earthwork, and site preparation work on a variety of large, active projects throughout the region and is known for long-term stability, strong client relationships, and operational excellence.

This role is ideal for a Project Manager who understands sitework from the ground up, including production, quantities, trucking, materials, sequencing, and cost impacts, and can manage that work from an office-based project management position. While the role is not field-supervisory, success requires a strong working knowledge of what is happening on site at all times.

The hiring process can move very quickly for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage excavation and site preparation projects from award through completion
  • Own project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and cost-to-complete analysis
  • Track daily and weekly quantities, production, trucking, and material flow
  • Coordinate closely with field leadership to stay aligned on progress and conditions
  • Review plans, specifications, and scopes with a focus on earthwork and civil site operations
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, purchase orders, and material procurement
  • Handle project billing, change management, and documentation
  • Identify risks, scope changes, and productivity impacts and take proactive action
  • Serve as the primary internal owner of project performance and financial results

Ideal Background

  • Proven experience in excavation, sitework, earthwork, or heavy civil construction
  • Career path that includes hands-on site exposure (such as foreman, superintendent, or similar field roles) followed by project management responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of quantities, materials, trucking, production rates, and sequencing
  • Comfortable performing quantity-based math and detailed cost analysis
  • Strong spreadsheet and project‑tracking skills
  • Organized, decisive, and able to manage multiple moving parts under tight timelines

Work Environment & Culture

  • Fully office-based role with close connection to active job sites
  • Fast-paced, execution-focused environment with high accountability
  • Stable organization with a strong reputation and consistent backlog of work
  • Team-oriented culture that values practical problem-solving, reliability, and follow-through
