Senior Architect
Position Summary
The Senior Architect is responsible for leading residential design efforts from initial concept through construction completion. This role ensures all projects meet high standards for design quality, code compliance, efficiency, and constructability within a high‑volume production environment. The position requires strong technical expertise, the ability to mentor team members, and effective collaboration across multiple internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the architectural design and documentation process for residential projects from concept through construction documents.
- Act as a senior technical authority on architectural standards, detailing, and code interpretation.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including land development, engineering, estimating, purchasing, and field construction to ensure coordinated project delivery.
- Review, refine, and approve construction drawings, plan sets, and specifications for accuracy, consistency, and operational efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and maintain CAD/BIM standards, libraries, and workflows; provide training and mentorship to team members.
- Oversee quality control for all architectural outputs, including work produced by junior staff.
- Conduct site visits as necessary to verify design intent and support construction compliance.
- Contribute to product innovation, value engineering initiatives, and process improvements across the residential portfolio.
Qualifications
- Licensed Architect in the State of Missouri (required)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
- 5-10+ years of professional experience with strong emphasis on residential design
- Deep knowledge of residential building codes, construction techniques, and production housing best practices
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
- Demonstrated experience leading teams, mentoring staff, and collaborating within multidisciplinary environments
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast paced setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
