Senior Project Manager (Roadway)

Are you a seasoned transportation professional looking to take the lead on complex roadway projects across North Carolina?

We are partnering with a well-established engineering consulting firm seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and grow its Roadway Department. This is a leadership-focused opportunity for an experienced PE who enjoys managing projects, developing staff, building client relationships, and driving the successful delivery of transportation infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage roadway and transportation projects from planning through delivery
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and quality control standards
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to roadway design staff
  • Manage client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders
  • Coordinate with NCDOT and local agencies on project delivery
  • Support business development efforts and help expand the firm's presence throughout North Carolina
  • Review and contribute to roadway design plans when needed
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina
  • 10+ years of experience delivering highway and transportation projects
  • Proven experience managing NCDOT projects
  • Strong project management and leadership experience
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor engineering teams
  • Successful track record delivering roadway projects on schedule and within budget
  • Proficiency with MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads Designer
