Senior Renewable Electrical Engineer
Company Summary:
A leading power systems engineering firm is seeking a Senior Renewable Electrical Engineer to join its growing renewable energy practice. This role offers the opportunity to provide technical leadership on utility‑scale solar, energy storage (BESS), and hybrid renewable projects while collaborating with experienced engineers, project teams, and clients across the U.S.
This position is ideal for an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys ownership of complex projects, mentoring junior staff, and helping clients successfully integrate renewable energy assets into the grid. The preference is for this position to be hybrid out of CO, WI, or MN. Remote candidates will be considered.
What You'll Do
- Lead the electrical design and engineering of utility-scale solar PV, BESS, and microgrid projects (typically 5 MW to 100+ MW)
- Provide technical leadership throughout project development, detailed design, and construction support
- Develop and review electrical construction documents, including one-lines, drawings, and equipment specifications
- Perform and oversee electrical system studies such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, grounding, ampacity, and protection coordination
- Manage electrical scope, schedules, and resources across projects of varying size and complexity
- Serve as a technical point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- 5-10+ years of experience in renewable energy or power systems engineering
- PE license or EIT certification (or ability to obtain PE within a reasonable timeframe)
- Strong experience with tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, ETAP, SKM, and SEL relays
