Qualifications
Engineer III
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related applied science field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
Senior Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related applied science field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
Accepted Disciplines
Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Computer Science, Physics, Math, Chemistry, Nuclear, Materials Science, Structural, Architectural, Electronics. (Engineering Technology degrees may require additional review.)
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
- Experience with power flow modeling, contingency analysis, and transmission service methodologies.
- Familiarity with tools such as PSLF, PowerWorld, or PSSE.
- Understanding of Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Real-Time Contingency Analysis (RTCA).
- Knowledge of NERC reliability standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Awareness of industry codes, standards, and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts technical evaluations, trend analyses, and system assessments to support operational decision-making.
- Identifies and resolves engineering issues, ensuring compliance with standards and maintaining system reliability.
- Collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to define project scope and gather necessary data.
- Oversees engineering programs, coordinates corrective actions, and ensures program health.
- Supports efficiency-improving projects and reviews designs for compliance and performance.
- Manages small to medium-sized projects, including planning, design, and coordination.
- Reviews technical work of peers to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Provides mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Stays current with technological advancements and industry developments through ongoing learning.
