Senior Transportation Engineer / Project Manager
Our client, a well‑established, 100% employee‑owned multidisciplinary engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer / Project Manager to join their Charlotte office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced roadway/transportation professional who is passionate about delivering high‑impact infrastructure projects and growing within a collaborative, people‑focused environment. This engineer will play a critical role in supporting and leading the Charlotte operations, working closely with Regional Senior Leadership.
The Senior Transportation Engineer / Project Manager will be responsible for:
* Leading roadway design and manage projects for municipal and state clients
* Managing budgets, schedules, and project delivery
* Overseeing junior staff, providing mentorship and technical guidance
* Supporting client meetings, coordination, and plan reviews
* Collaborating with cross‑disciplinary teams across multiple offices
* Contributing to business development efforts as needed
* Ensuring quality control and adherence to engineering standards
The ideal candidate will have:
* 8+ years of experience in transportation/roadway design
* Experience with municipal clients or City of Charlotte / NCDOT preferred
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
* PE license
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail
* A collaborative mindset and interest in leading and developing teams
* Proficiency with transportation design software and related tools
