Senior Transportation Project Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join their growing Transportation team in Chicago. This position is ideal for an experienced roadway engineer who enjoys leading technical design efforts, mentoring junior staff, managing client relationships, and delivering projects that improve local communities.
Responsibilities
- Lead roadway and transportation design projects from concept through final design.
- Prepare engineering analyses and design calculations in accordance with applicable standards and specifications.
- Develop technical reports, contract plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
- Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Mentor and develop junior engineering staff.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and quality control efforts.
- Support client relationships and contribute to successful project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 12+ years of transportation/roadway design experience.
- Strong understanding of project delivery from inception through completion.
- Proficiency in MicroStation required.
- Experience with OpenRoads Designer preferred.
- Familiarity with DOT, tollway, and municipal roadway design standards.
- Strong technical leadership and project management experience.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
