The firm is seeking a Structural Department Manager to lead, grow, and support its structural engineering group. This role is ideal for an experienced structural engineer who is passionate about technical excellence, team leadership, and delivering impactful projects across building and bridge sectors.
You will oversee project delivery, mentor junior and mid‑level engineers, guide workload planning, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure the continued growth and success of the structural department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for the structural engineering team
- Manage department staffing, workload distribution, and mentoring
- Oversee structural design and review across building and bridge projects
- Lead client communication, business development, and project strategy
- Ensure quality assurance, technical accuracy, and code compliance
- Coordinate with internal civil, transportation, site development, and surveying teams
- Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing team development efforts

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) required; Structural Engineer (SE) beneficial
- 10+ years of structural engineering experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Experience across building and/or bridge design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD; familiarity with structural design software (RAM, RISA, Revit) is valued
- Strong communication, leadership, and mentorship experience
Location
Missouri-based structural team, headquartered in St. Louis, with hybrid work options and flexibility between offices depending on team alignment and project needs.
