Structural Engineer - Waterwaste
We have a current opportunity for a Structural Engineer - Waste water on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Walnut Creek. For further information about this position please apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform structural analysis and design of waste water-related infrastructure including tanks, basins, pipe supports, buildings, and foundations.
Prepare construction documents including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Conduct site inspections, condition assessments, and prepare structural evaluation reports.
Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and process engineers to ensure integrated designs.
Review and stamp engineering plans and calculations as the responsible PE.
Participate in project planning, scheduling, and client meetings.
Ensure compliance with applicable building codes (IBC, ACI, AISC), environmental regulations, and safety standards.
Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs.
Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on structural design practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 7 years of relevant structural engineering experience in water/wastewater projects.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000) and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit, or Civil 3D).
Strong understanding of reinforced concrete and steel design.
Experience with seismic design and soil-structure interaction is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
