Structural Project Engineer

A well-established structural engineering consulting firm is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join its growing team. About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated structural engineer who enjoys both technical design and client-facing responsibilities. The ideal candidate will play a key role in project execution, leading aspects of design, coordinating with internal teams, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate directly with clients and project stakeholders
  • Manage and mentor junior engineering staff
  • Conduct site visits and field observations
  • Perform structural analysis and calculations for a variety of building types
  • Develop and review structural drawings and construction documents for both new and existing structures
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions

Required Qualifications

  • Strong technical competence and working knowledge of applicable building codes
  • Proven ability to develop construction documents with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience managing engineering teams and interfacing directly with clients
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering (or related field with structural emphasis)
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in California

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing and evaluating structures using wood, steel, concrete, masonry, and post-tensioned systems
  • Familiarity with REVIT
  • Experience performing seismic evaluations, loss estimates, or Probable Maximum Loss (PML) studies
  • Structural Engineer (SE) license in California
