Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer with expertise in Building Automation Systems (BAS) to join our remote U.S. team. This role involves designing control systems for HVAC, lighting, and energy management, with a strong emphasis on creating technical diagrams using Microsoft Visio.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and document building automation systems, including control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and system schematics using Microsoft Visio.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure designs meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Interpret mechanical, electrical, and architectural drawings to develop control strategies and system layouts.
  • Prepare submittal documentation including sequence of operations, device layouts, and bill of materials.
  • Provide design support during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and version control.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes (e.g., NEC, ASHRAE, NFPA) and client requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in building automation or control systems design.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visio for technical diagramming and documentation.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control logic, and electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with BAS protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or Revit.
  • Knowledge of energy management systems and smart building technologies.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Trello, MS Project, or Jira).
  • Industry certifications (e.g., LEED, PMP, or vendor-specific certifications like Tridium, Siemens, or Johnson Controls).
