Business Development Manager (Service) - Melbourne

We are currently working closely with a leading provider of water analytical instrumentation solutions, delivering cutting-edge technologies and services to ensure water quality and compliance across industries. Our mission is to empower customers with reliable, accurate, and sustainable water analysis solutions. The team is expanding in Melbourne and looking for a Business Development Manager will drive growth in technical sales and service offerings, with a strong focus on service sales, including spare parts and service contracts. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in CRM and ERP systems to manage the full sales cycle effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Sales
    • Identify and develop new business opportunities for water analytical instrumentation products and services.
    • Drive service sales, including spare parts, maintenance contracts, and extended warranties.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders.
  • Account Management
    • Manage customer accounts through proactive engagement and solution-based selling.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction and retention through timely support and service delivery.
  • CRM & ERP Management
    • Utilize Salesforce for pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.
    • Work with ERP systems (Oracle or SAP) for order processing, inventory management, and contract administration.
  • Market Intelligence
    • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions.
    • Provide feedback to product and service teams for continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in technical sales or service sales within analytical instrumentation or related industries.
  • Proven track record in service sales (spare parts, contracts).
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce) and ERP systems (Oracle or SAP).
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
