Chicago | Transportation Design Engineer
My client is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join their growing transportation team in the Chicago area. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage transportation design projects from inception through construction.
- Perform and oversee:
- Roadway geometric design
- Utility and drainage design
- Hydraulic modeling and analysis
- Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans
- Traffic studies and traffic signal design
- Phase I and Phase II design for IDOT projects
- Public involvement and stakeholder coordination
- Review plans and specifications for compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Coordinate with municipal agencies, utility providers, county agencies, and IDOT.
- Build and maintain client relationships while supporting business development and industry involvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois.
- 8+ years of transportation engineering experience.
- Experience delivering roadway projects for municipalities, counties, and/or IDOT.
- Strong understanding of transportation project development and design standards.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation preferred.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
