About the Opportunity
A leading national general contractor is launching a dedicated Data Center Division and is seeking an accomplished executive to lead this strategic expansion. As Executive Vice President, Data Center Division, you will be responsible for building and scaling a new business unit focused on delivering complex, mission-critical infrastructure projects across North America.
This is a high-impact, board-facing role with full P&L responsibility, reporting directly to the COO and CEO. You will shape the division's vision, drive market penetration, and lead the execution of large-scale data center projects from preconstruction through delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the long-term vision, business plan, and growth strategy for the Data Center Division.
- Market Expansion: Identify and develop relationships with hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise clients; lead go-to-market initiatives.
- Operational Oversight: Lead all aspects of project delivery, including preconstruction, design management, field operations, and commissioning.
- Executive Collaboration: Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, advising on capital allocation, investment strategy, and organizational development.
- Talent Acquisition & Development: Build and lead a high-performing team of construction professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation.
- P&L Ownership: Manage division-level financial performance, including forecasting, budgeting, and profitability.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 15+ years of experience in construction leadership, with a strong track record in data center or mission-critical infrastructure.
- Proven success in launching or scaling a business unit or division within a general contractor or developer.
- Deep technical knowledge of data center systems, including MEP, commissioning, and operational readiness.
- Executive presence with strong commercial acumen and client-facing experience.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to lead through ambiguity and drive growth in a competitive market.
