Civil Engineer - Water/Wastewater Infrastructure

Location: San Diego, CA
Compensation: $100,000 - $150,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

A respected and growing consulting engineering firm in Southern California is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its Water/Wastewater team in San Diego. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of municipal infrastructure projects, supporting local agencies and communities throughout the region.

The firm is known for its collaborative culture, technical excellence, and strong relationships with public-sector clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys managing projects, working directly with clients, and contributing to meaningful water infrastructure improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • Support pipeline, pump station, reservoir, treatment facility, and conveyance system projects.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Assist with project management, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication.
  • Support the preparation of proposals and business development efforts.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to the growth of the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • PE license preferred or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
  • 7+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Experience with utility design, hydraulic analysis, or municipal engineering projects.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
  • Strong communication and project coordination skills.
