Commercial Solar Foreman

A well-established electrical contracting organization is seeking a qualified Electrical Solar Foreman to lead and manage solar electrical projects from initiation through completion. This position is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable codes and standards. The ideal candidate is an experienced field leader with strong technical expertise and proven supervisory skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Electrical Solar Foreman is responsible for daily leadership and oversight of electricians, solar installers, apprentices, and subcontractors assigned to their projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned solar electrical projects from kickoff through final closeout
  • Coordinate with project managers, customers, contractors, vendors, and other trades
  • Plan, layout, and oversee installation of PV systems, racking, wiring, inverters, and related electrical equipment in accordance with project specifications and local codes
  • Order and manage labor, materials, tools, and equipment to support daily operations
  • Monitor labor productivity and material usage to meet or exceed project estimates
  • Ensure all work is performed safely, neatly, and to a high standard of quality
  • Conduct weekly toolbox talks and complete daily site safety documentation
  • Lead, train, and mentor apprentices and field personnel
  • Participate in job meetings as required
  • Identify and communicate potential change orders or value-added opportunities
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required project documentation, including time tracking, purchase orders, as-built drawings, expense submissions, and closeout materials
  • Deliver projects with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and professional representation of the company
  • Enforce company, customer, and OSHA safety standards; promote a zero-incident safety culture
  • Proactively identify and report potentially hazardous conditions or equipment

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Demonstrated experience as an Electrical Foreman, preferably within solar or renewable energy projects
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and schedules
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and job-site issues
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor
  • Commitment to quality workmanship and safety
  • Valid driver's license and ability to be insured under company policies
  • Willingness to travel and work out of town as project needs require
  • Required hand tools per company standards

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work at heights, including ladders, roofs, and aerial lifts
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying materials weighing 75 pounds or more
