Construction Manager Electric Utilities

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Manager with a strong background in electric utility construction, including transmission, distribution, and substation projects. This role involves overseeing all phases of construction, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will bring leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage field operations for electric utility projects, including high-voltage transmission lines, distribution systems, and substations.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution.
- Develop and maintain construction schedules, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and utility-specific requirements.
- Conduct site inspections, lead progress meetings, and resolve field issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation including daily reports, change orders, and project logs.
- Lead and mentor field personnel, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager/Superintendent/Foreman in the electric utility sector, with a focus on transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
- Strong knowledge of utility construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training is preferred.
