Construction Project Manager (Data Center), Malaysia

About the Role

The client is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with strong expertise in Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) disciplines to oversee data center construction projects in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will be highly familiar with local construction laws, regulatory processes, and approval requirements.

Role Overview

This position is responsible for managing end‑to‑end CSA project execution-from site readiness and structural works to architectural completion-ensuring the successful delivery of high‑quality, compliant, and timely data center infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full CSA scope, including site development, structural construction, and architectural works.
  • Liaise with Malaysian authorities on zoning, building permits, and compliance with local regulatory frameworks such as the Uniform Building By‑Laws (UBBL) and other statutory requirements.
  • Manage contractors and vendors, monitor construction progress, and uphold strict safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Address design issues, coordinate resolution of discrepancies, and oversee red‑line and as‑built documentation.
  • Work closely with MEP and commissioning teams to ensure integrated project execution.
  • Ensure project alignment with applicable incentives, regulatory guidelines, and utility requirements in Malaysia.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in CSA construction, preferably within data center, industrial, or mission‑critical environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian permitting processes, local construction regulations, and coordination with utility providers.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin
