Control Specialist
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, start up, test, and troubleshoot BMS/DDC control systems supporting a wide range of mechanical equipment and facilities.
- Develop, modify, and commission control programming in accordance with project-specific sequences of operation.
- Configure and deploy operator interfaces, graphics, servers, and touchscreen control displays.
- Provide regular progress updates to project leadership and communicate project status effectively.
- Serve as a technical liaison between customers, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation throughout project execution and support project closeout activities.
- Prepare and follow Method of Procedure (MOP) and Change Management (CM) documentation.
- Execute commissioning activities, including pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems testing.
- Collaborate with third-party commissioning providers and customer representatives during project validation.
- Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and service support on existing building automation systems.
- Manage responsibilities across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Follow customer security requirements and procedures while working in highly secure environments.
- Deliver high-quality customer service and technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, OR an associate degree/apprenticeship combined with relevant industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with building automation, controls, PLC, or related automation systems.
- Experience programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting BAS/BMS control systems.
- Tridium Niagara AX/N4 certification and experience with Distech ECLYPSE products are highly preferred.
- Experience with Siemens, Schneider Electric, or comparable building automation platforms is a plus.
- Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, and third-party systems integration.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and control system principles.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and Windows-based operating systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Visio, or similar technical tools is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel throughout Eastern Washington and Eastern Oregon, including occasional overnight trips
